I don’t think I was prepared for the chilly weather we had this past week. Brrr! This poor little girl stuck it out with us, though. We finally found a sheltered spot thanks to mom’s quick thinking.

There are no face shots of this session on my blog or website because the parents specifically requested it. Although my contract states that I own the copyright to the images I take, and that I may use them for promotional purposes, I always respect the parent’s wishes. If you ever decide that you would like your child’s images removed from my website, please let me know. And you can always change your mind later.

Since this is the only image for this post, I thought I would share some images from a recent workshop I attended in Missouri. It was so much fun, but I don’t think I’ll be scheduling another workshop during the busy months. Here are some photos from the workshop that I took. There was some really amazing talent there. Those ladies blew me away!

Riverwalk

Originally uploaded by whitecottonstudio.

Sometimes the question arises, “Do I photograph older children?” Well, I suppose the answer is “YES!” It’s a nice break from toddlers because teenagers are much slower, and they are more likely to share their snacks.

This family was great to work with. The son was a little unsure at first, but after a little bribery from TGI Friday’s, he was ready to help me direct some shots. (And so were the cyclists whizzing by on the river paths!)

After talking with Mom about a certain other shot of feet I did, I think I got a little carried away. So far, I think that the majority of my proofs from this session have more feet than people in them! I’m having a lot of fun in post-processing, so get ready for some funky shots.

Flower Power

I had a great time with these ladies even though I was on the tail end of a head cold. I was thrilled to get to work with these teenagers and mom. The girls had a lot of spunk and are just about as crazy as me (which says a lot!).

The girls both had incredible eyes, and I knew it when I found the perfect spot with perfect light to really make them come alive. That’s what I strive for…to bring out the best features in all of us. Of course, not all features are ready for the camera. Just remember to paint your toes when I show up! You never know what will happen.

Downtown

Originally uploaded by whitecottonstudio.

This family was so much fun. They didn’t let the windy weather hamper their spirits. When I mentioned that I wanted to do a shoot downtown, mom said, “That will be great!” I was thrilled! I was sure that I was going to have to beg, plead, and grovel for at least 5 minutes to talk a client into it. Talk about making my job easy.

I was amazed at some of the color we found downtown. I was overly worried about my clients’ safety (it is downtown afterall), but it was all worth it from the shots I got.
